For our summer vacation, we decided to spend 15 days on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Turquoise waters, white sand beaches, Mayan cities and renowned archaeological sites, it is for us the ideal destination for those who wish to combine paradisiacal places and culture for their holidays.

How to get a cheap flight ticket?
The cost of a trip to this region is often expensive, especially in July-August. We discovered the advertisement by Lilligo and we saw there were attractive prices for flights Paris-Cancun. So we took a round trip ticket Paris to Cancun flight for 1,100 euros each. It is a good plan especially in mid-July. (while other sites posted a minimum price of 1,600 euros per person.)
In addition to airline tickets, Lilligo offers you the opportunity to book hotels and a car for your trip, and all this for a cheap price!

Tulum is a real paradise with paradisiacal beaches on the Caribbean side (even if it's not the real Mexico anymore). Life seems more cool and relaxed there here more than any other place.
Many treasures are hidden and we have discovered some of them. Including the Sian Ka'an nature reserve and the ruins of Muyil with the agency Mexico Kan Tours.
We also had the chance to discover the ruins of Tulum seen from the sea with the agency Koox Diving.

Ki'imak apartments: if you are traveling with friends or family, we recommend these excellent apartments-hotels, in the heart of Tulum.
Merida is the capital of Yucatan and here it is another facet of Mexico that we discovered: a colonial city where modernity mixes with tradition, beautiful buildings, lots of people, local sounds, but the city is more than that!
The must-see sights of the city are: San Idelfonso Cathedral, Plaza Grande Park, Palacio Municipal, Hostal Zocalo, San Juan Bautista Park and Church, Paseo de Montejo and the Palace of the Governor. And of course, the many colorful streets in the city!
For museum enthusiasts , we loved the Museo moderno Macay exhibiting the works of the Mexican painter Fernando Garcia Ponce.
During our stay in Merida, we had the chance to spend a day in a Mayan community with Mexique découverte, a French travel agency in Mexico. The agency organized a tailor-made tour with a guide. In addition to the shaman, we had the chance to discover a Mayan temple unknown to the general public, a cenote and Mayan local cuisine.

A small fishing village located in the north of the Yucutan Peninsula. Relaxing and soothing, you are very far from Tulum's mass tourism. Here, no cash machine, few hotels and few tourists, you discover the authentic and traditional Mexico. We visited the beautiful Rio Lagartos Nature Reserve with Rio Lagartos Maravillate: There are mangroves, flamingos, pelicans, barracudas, crocodiles. In short, an impressive biodiversity.
The other must-to see of the place is the pink lake of Las Coloradas, guaranteed 100% natural and without dye. Loaded with salt and sediment, the lake naturally takes on this pretty astonishing pink color.

A quiet and wild island that offers a paradise island setting. Here, no cars, no big resort hotels, no nightlife. The proximity to locals is one of the many assets of the island: local life is present and its authenticity is preserved.
At Holbox, you can discover many heavenly beaches that are uncrowded. We also advise you to lose yourself in the colorful streets of the island and admire the street-art.
